“I’ve met plenty of young women who get by in the desert fine while kitted out in fetish gear – in those old comic books, of course. Nothing but the faded dreams of artists turned to dust and smoke. But I’d trust Varla with my life if I was twice the man I am. Get to know her well enough and she’ll tell you about her sister, who traded all the miseries the likes of us face every day for Scabber Randy’s finest cage. Now Varla isn’t one for cages, and whenever that same slaver’s apes set foot on this sacred ground, her crew sends them packing with a very different kind of show!”

Another amazing picture, with another strong story behind it. James, if there is any more background on Varla or the story, would you mind elaborating it? We're designing the game, and she seems like a good character to expand on, maybe make a few more cards around. Events and such. Also, there is my own curiosity and wonderment. You really bring these tales to life, and add story to amazing visuals.
There's no more background at the moment, though I might add more on this character later. As you've probably noticed, I've been presenting "Scorched Earth" as an open world which viewers are free to expand on rather than one based around a strict canon. The name Varla is a nod to the old grindhouse films, notably Russ Meyer's "Faster Pussycat," in which Tura Satana played the bad girl to good effect. If you'd like more characters or have any concepts of your own, now's the time to let me know!

I do have an abundance of concepts I would like to share, but I think it'd be best to send that over notes, more organized and such? But one thing I think would be interesting would be taking a look at some settlements and cities. The scrap yards where robot worshiping tribes live, scavenger cities and raider camps. Slaver settlements and underground towns.

Those might not be the best examples, but I think seeing how some people live together day to day in this wasteland, in slightly larger numbers, would be interesting. Plus, the factions are quite interesting. The CMIC is mysterious, but I keep thinking Israel when I look at it. Surrounded on all sides by hostility, its citizens born into war, holding together not only due to their technology, but how tightly they work together.

Although I do have some more specific ideas to share, should I put those in a note or where others can see and give opinion?

And I hope the cards and how to play the game seems sufficient so far. Alright, sending my character ideas soon enough! Hopefully any of it appeals.
Notes is definitely the way to go. I've got to do more environments, and you'll be pleased to know I've roughed out a shantytown built in the shadow of a fallen freeway, and a drawing of two survivors overlooking a ruined cityscape from the shell of a high rise building.

As I've mentioned elsewhere on the site, I've got backstories for three main factions, though they're not too detailed at present. The CMIC (Coalition of Military Industrial Collectives, also called the Coalition) was founded by the remnants of a pre-apocalyptic military and its organisation, uniforms and equipment are similar to those of contemporary armed forces. Veyon Industries is an arms corporation that profited from the last great war and also seeks world domination; though fewer in number, and less experienced in combat, its operatives have access to cutting edge technology and advanced AI systems. The Wasteland Alliance is a looser confederation of survivalists, raiders and mercenaries who have often served one of the other two factions but now seeks independence; while their technology is less advanced, its members are the most familiar with the harsh environment and excel at guerilla warfare. There's still a lot of room for expansion, other factions, etc. but we'll discuss this in more detail later!

I love this.

Also, did you see Bungie's new game Destiny? The concept art for it looks like something you'd draw.
I haven't heard of Destiny. Thanks for the lead, I'm on to it now!

Love the necklace, hair and gun, man. Background is great too.
Not to offend, but the feet seem a bit too small, but that might be because I draw big ass feet. ha ha.
Thanks! No offence taken, constructive criticism's always welcome and I wish I got it more. This was actually a pretty old drawing I'd only just gotten round to photoshopping. I've since changed the feet a bit.
